Modernist-style 9ct Gold Pendant, Pink and White Sapphire, London Hallmarked, Geometric Open Design
A striking vintage 9 carat gold pendant with a bold, sculptural, asymmetric open lozenge (navette/kite) framework in gold wire, surrounding a central bar set with two graduated gemstones. Fully hallmarked for London and dated 1986.
Gemstones: The lower stone is a round mixed/rose-cut white gem which tests as white sapphire. The upper stone is a faceted pink/mauve gem in a closed rubbed-over setting — gem-testing shows it to be harder than garnet; the colour, hardness, and the fact its companion stone is a confirmed sapphire are all consistent with this being a pink sapphire, though this has not been laboratory-certified.
Fitted with a jump ring for suspension on a chain (chain not included).
Measurements:
Approximately 4.5cm (1¾") long including the bale, excluding the jump ring.
Weight: 2.7 grams.
Condition: Good vintage condition commensurate with age - please examine all photos closely, as they form part of the item description.
A lovely, wearable piece of vintage gold jewellery with genuine character.
