14ct Gold Mother of Pearl Pendant and 9ct Gold Chain Necklace. Chinese Character Design.

A lovely necklace pairing a round mother of pearl pendant with a fine 9ct gold chain.

The pendant is a polished mother of pearl disc, approximately 3cm long excluding the bale, set with a small pierced gold roundel at the centre in an Oriental-style knot/longevity motif. The pendant itself is unmarked, as is typical for pieces of this small scale and age, but it was confirmed as testing as 14ct gold when acquired at auction. Buyers should note I have not independently acid- or XRF-tested.

The chain is a very fine box-link design, 16 inches in length, stamped 9ct and "Italy" and carries full British hallmarks confirming 9 carat gold.

Together, the pendant and chain weigh 4 grams.
This is a delicate, wearable everyday piece with a lovely warm lustre from the mother of pearl and would suit anyone who likes understated vintage gold jewellery with an East-Asian design influence.
