"Tulip" vase designed by Josef Hospodka
A distinctive "Tulip" art glass vase designed by Josef Hospodka for the Czechoslovak glassworks Chřibská Sklárna in the 1960s.
Josef Hospodka was one of the most important Czech post-war glass designers and served as the artistic director of the Chřibská glassworks from 1958 to 1970.
Hand-molded glass (studio glass). The vase features an organic shape resembling an opening tulip blossom and striking coloration: an intense ruby-pink core transitions smoothly into the transparent, substantial glass at the base, which has four flared projections.
Thick, heavy art glass in excellent condition.
