A distinctive, large, hand-blown art glass vase from the Józefina glassworks in Krosno, Poland.
The vase features a form characteristic of this glassworks, with a wavy, irregular rim (often referred to as the "handkerchief" or *zakdoekvaas* style). It is crafted from layered glass, featuring a light-colored background with a marble-like or crackled texture that contrasts with thick, vertical bands in a dark—almost black—shade that transitions into a solid-colored base.
It is worth noting that, due to their striking form and craftsmanship, these designs are sometimes mistakenly attributed on the secondary market to Italian Murano glass; in reality, however, this is a superb example of Polish artistic glassmaking.
