Restored Hardwood Floor Lamp with Hand-Painted Shade
We found this lamp tired, damaged and buried under a thick yellow varnish, but the hardwood underneath was too good to give up on.
We stripped it back, repaired the original shade and gave the wood a light new finish so its natural colour could come through. Paige then hand-painted the shade in acrylic using a soft watercolour technique.
For us, pieces like this are about more than restoration. They’re a small answer to throwaway culture — taking something overlooked, keeping its history, and giving it a reason to be loved again.
