Zoolek Aquatest pH 7,4-9,0

Aquatest pH 7.4 - 9.0 is used to measure and control the pH value in the alkaline range in sea and fresh water with an accuracy of 0.2. The measurement method is simple - a few drops of the indicator are added to the water sample, and the developed color is compared with the color scale bands and the result is read.

Why measure the pH?

Maintaining the pH value at an appropriate and relatively constant level is important for all aquatic organisms, especially those living in a marine aquarium. The pH of the water in the marine aquarium should be in the range of 7.9-8.4, preferably as close as possible to 8.2. Only seawater preparations should be used to adjust the pH value in saltwater.

Maintaining a pH value above 7.5 is also important for biotope freshwater aquariums with cichlids from the African lakes Malawi and Tanganyika. Maintaining an appropriate, constant water pH is particularly important during their development and for fry.
