Walnut leaves are natural food for miniature shrimps. The leaves release tannins and cause a slight acidification of water. They also disinfect water.
Put 3 leaves for every 50 liters of water, replenish every 2-3 weeks. The leaves can be put directly into the aquarium, then they will remain for a longer period. If scolded with boiling water, they release tannins and bacteria and the animals will feed on them faster.
