Seachem Matrix

Seachem Matrix is a highly porous filter medium that ensures the efficient removal of nitrogenous waste products.

The diameter of a single grain is about 10 mm, and the total surface area in one litre is over 700 m2, which corresponds to 170 litres of plastic bio balls.

Due to its structure, the Seachem Matrix enables the settlement of microorganisms both in the shallower and deeper parts of the pores.

Additionally, they are of optimal size for nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria. This makes it possible to get rid of nitrates, nitrites, and ammonia at the same time.
