Seachem MATRIX is a filter element in the form of granules with high porosity. The structure of each granule is optimal for the settlement of micro-organisms, including nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria. This allows you to efficiently get rid of nitrates, nitrites and ammonia from the tank.
The diameter of each granule varies around 10 mm, and their total area per 1 liter is approximately 700 m2 (this is the value corresponding to 170 liters of plastic bioballs). Seachem Matrix 1l is chemically inert and does not decompose. It does not need to be replaced (the granules can be rinsed). It can be used in marine, reef and freshwater tanks.
