It has the ability to remove harmful organic and inorganic substances from water. Coal is commonly used to remove the unpleasant smell of water or volatile and liquid coloring matter. Absorbs heavy metals and removes water staining.
Activated charcoal is recommended to be replaced every 3 weeks, as its activity gradually decreases.
