This poem about an audacious jackdaw who steals the Cardinal's ring, was written by Richard Harris Barham (1788-1845) under his pseudonym Thomas Ingoldsby. He was best known as the author of The Ingoldsby Legends.
Condition: Publisher's original cloth binding, with pictorial gilt to the front board - boards and spine faded in areas - text block clean and firm - rough cut pages to two sides of text block and gilt to top edge -12 tipped-in colour plates still bright - minor crease marks to lower left corner of one - see all images for condition.
Dimensions: 13 3/4" high x 10 1/2" wide x 5/8" thick
