If you want to eat honey the way the bees eat theirs, this is it.

Our honey comes entirely from our own hives around Tyrrellspass, Co. Westmeath and is sold direct from the beekeeper.

We keep it simple:

🐝 We never feed our bees sugar syrup or fondant — at any time of the year.
🍯 We only extract what the bees themselves collect.
🔥 Our honey is never heated.
🥄 It is never blended.

What comes out of the hive is what goes into the jar.

Real honey changes naturally. Depending on what the bees have been foraging on, it can be pale, golden or dark, and it will naturally crystallise and set. The different colours in our photos are all honey from our own hives.

By September, our honey is naturally setting.

So if you’re buying supposedly raw honey that’s still perfectly clear and runny in September, ask the beekeeper one simple question:

“How is it still runny?”

There may be a perfectly good explanation — but you should know how the honey you’re buying has been handled.
