The dragon gasket is an O-ring located between the oil pump and the dragon assembly in an Opel Insignia with a 2.0 CDTI diesel engine. Its main task is to seal this connection. However, over time, the seal hardens and leaks oil, which causes the lubrication pressure to drop. This situation may quickly lead to the engine seizing up.

The aluminum sleeve-gasket connecting the oil pump with the pump replaces the defective factory seal of the oil pump, which causes the engine to seize. The new sealing sleeve creates a permanent connection between the pump and the oil pan, which eliminates the manufacturing defect of this engine. It does not deform like the factory seal. The set includes O-rings made of Viton, a material resistant to high temperatures and engine oil. Replacing the old factory seal with such a sealing sleeve is simple, just remove the old seal and install a new sleeve in place of the old one.
