The Guitar
Tokai ST50 - Fifties style Stratocaster Re Issue - Japanese quality. Serial 230359 1985
Amazing for its age coming up to 40 year old next year will be considered vintage soon enough. It has been hardly played and well looked after - In almost mint condition bar a few minor surface scuffs on the bottom edge that i would have to point out for you to even notice.
The grey bobbin Tonerider Classic Blues Alnico 5 pick ups sound great and not ice pick at all but not too hot either. Its set up for 10's. I also copper lined the cavity for extra protection from noise, it was quiet anyway. All original electronics that work perfect as to be expected. The tone pot has been wired to the bridge pick up as well. Original pick ups are gone as one was faulty.
It will come with a new Thomann case, I Also got a brand new Fender Trem arm to go with it.
I included new set of Kluson tuners but the originals are on at the moment I forgot to change them over when I added new strings recently - the reason being one of the originals feels is a little loose but it does work fine once the tension of the string is there. The new klusons will be better though they are a drop in fit I had tried them for size already. I will install them for you if you buy or trade if you want.
The trem is set up to move forward only but can easily be made floating.
The 7.25 radius board feels great with a nice feeling C shaped neck. It has vintage style frets like they are suppose to have. Perfectly set up very Low action and there are no high frets at all. Zero fret wear as well.
I have replaced the plastic nut with a graph tech and its cut perfect for nice easy action at the first fret as well and a bonus for using the trem. The guitar is not heavy at all the body is alder. The action is 1.5 on High E and 1.75 on Low E. So very good for a 7.25 radius.
