Ibanez Roadstar 2 Deluxe RS525

Stunning 1985 RS525 Deluxe in the eye-catching Purple Haze paint finish.

The RS525 features an arched basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez IBZ humbucking pickups with Duo Sound coil-split functionality mounted in black pickup rings and a Pro Rock'r double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut, knurled Tek Grip control knobs and Smooth Tuner II tuning machines.

In very good condition for a 41 year old guitar apart from the paint chip at the input jack there are a few minor chips on the headstock and minor buckle rash. Everything functions perfectly, trem, push/push coil taps.

The IBZ pickups are made by DiMarzio and feature a triple magnet design supposed to help with the coil tapped sound. Despite the covers they are not an active pickup probably just designed to look like EMGs to cash in.
They're a pretty inoffensive sounding pickup handling most styles and yes the coil tap sound is pretty good.

Fret wear is negligible the rosewood is tight grained and dark and the Roadstar DX profile neck is thin and smooth 42mm wide at the nut and similar profile to the Wizard C neck so ideal for speed and comfort.
The paint is a factory standard chameleon colour that changes with the light from hot pink to deep purple and always makes an impact.

The arm is not original I ordered it up from "fretsonthenet" he makes a lot of parts for older trems up from scratch.

It comes with period correct "Hardcase" branded hard case, not pretty but it does the job.
