Gibson L-6S Custom 1975
This is quite a rare one - a Gibson L-6S Custom from 1975 in good condition and (mostly) original.
It was designed by Bill Lawrence (guitar and pickup designer) and is a maple-bodied guitar with unique features (for Gibson) such as a 24 fret neck and also the quirky electronics.
The original included a 6 way rotary switch, which in addition to the usual pickup options (neck/neck and bridge/bridge) also included out-of-phase in series/out-of-phase in parallel/in phase in series. In addition it has two tone controls, treble roll-off (standard tone control) and also a midrange roll-off.
This is an interesting set of tones however many users found the rotary switch a bit cumbersome, especially when playing live.
I've replaced it with a Freeway 3x3-05 switch, which provides the same set of options but in a 6 way toggle switch - much easier to use! I'll include the old rotary switch but I have a suspicion that it isn't the original one...
Other than that, this is all original - Gibson branded Schaller machine heads, Bill Lawrence Super Humbuckers, Schaller "harmonica" bridge and stop bar, and original pots, capacitors and knobs.
It is a bit of a warhorse and has the usual number of dings and bumps you'd expect from a 50 year old guitar, but I've fully set it up with a nice low action and it plays lke a dream. There is no fretwear whatsoever, which implies it's had a refret at some stage. It even includes the original case - again, it's been beaten up over the years but is still functional with all latches working.
