1994 Fender TLG-94p MIJ Custom Telecaster
(More pictures to be added)
According to a 90’s Fender catalogue, Fender Japan had a special team during that era called “Custom Edition Team” (which no longer exists). The team consisted of only highly skilled builders and finishers, used only select materials, took custom orders, and produced these “50th Anniversary” Custom Teles. The model was frequently used by U2’s ‘The Edge’ when playing Sunday Bloody Sunday on the ‘Vertigo’ and ‘Elevation’ tours. The sensational spec includes mother of pearl binding, pearloid pickguard, gold hardware and a matching painted headstock. Collectors often refer to it as the “Vegas Tele,” thanks to its flamboyant aesthetic. You also get more traditional specs including a Basswood body, and slim profile neck with 25.5” scale rosewood fretboard. The pickguard and backplate have both been replaced due to the ageing originals. This guitar sings! The twin single coil pickups sound great and are controlled via 3-way switch, plus master volume / tone controls.
