1954 Fender Stratocaster 70th Anniversary Special Edition

Stunning Fender USA 70th Anniversary American Vintage II 1954 Stratocaster.

This really is some guitar. Built to mark 70 years of the Fender Stratocaster it is a fantastic and very accurate reflection of one of the world’s most iconic guitars.

As you can see from the pics the ash used on this particular guitar is absolutely gorgeous beneath the traditional two tone nitro sunburst finish. Probably one of the prettiest Strats I’ve seen. Because it’s nitro it will also age beautifully over time.

Fender went to great lengths to capture that 1954 vintage vibe mirroring the original with two tone nitro finish, Fender Pat Pend saddles (very rare to see these on anything other than the original 1950s models), single ply white pickguard, round edged pickups and single round string tree. Really everything you would expect on Strat from 1954.

This beauty sounds fantastic and plays superbly. Light weight too. It has been played but is in really close to brand new condition. Even the tremolo arm has not been fitted yet as there is still a protective cover over the hole for the arm.

It is also relatively rare as it seems Fender only made 1954 of these so not many around.

As you can see it comes with a mountain of candy and a lovely commemorative tweed Fender case.

All of the candy is in perfect and sometimes unopened condition. It includes:

Chrome bridge cover

Vintage 1954 style guitar lead

Vintage 1954 style leather strap

Alternative 70th Anniversary neck plate

Two tremolo arms – one threaded and the other push in. I haven’t tried them as there is a protective trem hole cover in place which I haven’t removed and clearly the trem has never been fitted at this stage

Various hang tags and stickers

Three way switch. Fender provided both a three way and five way switch option with two switches supplied. The guitar is currently fitted with the five way for obvious reasons

Original Fender Certificate

An unopened package which seems to have a Fender polishing cloth, extra tremolo springs, and instruction booklet and a few other bits

Case keys

Copies of materials that would have come with a Strat in 1954 including instructions and advertisements

This a highly collectible and very desirable guitar as well as a great investment.

Can be hard to come by and most aren’t as pretty as this.
