Very Rare USA Rudy Sarzo Signature Bass

Very Rare USA Rudy Sarzo Signature Bass Very Rare USA Rudy Sarzo Signature Bass Electric Basses

This is my second Rudy Sarzo. Very rare & collectable Signature American made through neck bass. I sold my other Red one here several months ago. This one is the better of the two and in superior condition with an even rarer Purple finish.

One photo shows both my Sarzos.

As designed as used by legendary bassist Rudy Sarzo of Quiet Riot, Whitesnake, Dio, Blue Oyster Cult, Animetal etc

34 inch scale, 24 frets / double octave.
Beautiful ebony fingerboard 8 inch radius (great action fast neck).

Unique "snake-eye" mother of pearl inlays inspired by Rudy's time with David Coverdale's Whitesnake.

Two humbucking wide aperture ceramic pickups
Gold plated hardware,
Schaller bridge
Schaller security strap locks.
Premium machine heads 22:1 ratio.
Solid brass top nut.
Active 3 band eq circuit (treble, middle & bass controls).
Volume and pick-up blend controls.
Active bypass switch (allows passive use without battery).
5 piece thru neck 1 5/8 neck width.

Plays like a dream with great sustain, thumping, growling bass tones. High output powerful pick-ups even with active circuit switched off.

This bass was specially designed by Peavey in consultation with Rudy Sarzo. It was apparently inspired by an Alembic Rudy had played. I reckon this sounds and plays fairly similar to my Alembic, serious buyers are welcome to try and compare. It is also quite similar to the classic neck through Aria SB Elite range, but this bass has a greater range of tones and even better hardware etc. ARIA also later produced a very similar Rudy Sarzo model.

Excellent condition for a late 1980s vintage classic. Body and neck are in great condition no chips. dents or buckle rash. Frets in excellent condition. there are a couple of minor dings on the headstock which I have tried to show in photos.

This is one of the very best build quality basses I have seen or owned over 50 years playing and trying numerous basses. Plays like a dream. Build quality blows Fender, Gibson, Musicman, Rickenbacker, Warwick etc away.

This was the forerunner to the Peavey Cirrus series. The high spec neck-thru-body USA made versions with comparable features originally retailed circa €3000.
