The Game of the Century: The Story Behind Irelands Legendary Game of The Seventies originally released as The Dubs In The Rare Ould Times is a 97 minute documentary film featuring the Irish actor Colm Meaney as he interviews and looks back on the legendary Dublin GAA side of the 1970s.
Back of the Cover: In 1974 Kevin Heffernan restored pride in the capital by leading Dublin to their first All-Ireland in 11 years. “The Game of the Century” charts the success of that famous team in ‘the rare ould times’, a team that was to dominate gaelic football history. They became the first team to contest 6 All Irelands in a row, winning 3 of them.
Dublin actor Colm Meaney (The Snapper, The Van and Star Trek) stars in and asks the questions of that famous Dublin team of the 1970s.
Sit back and watch the amazing archive footage of the greatest game of all time – the classic 1977 All-Ireland semi-final clash between Heffo’s Heroes and the men from the Kingdom, led by Mick O’Dwyer.
