Red Fox is a 1991 adaption of the Gerald Seymour novel of the same name and stars John Hurt (Alien and 1984) and Brian Cox (The original Hannibal Lector in Manhunter). Although the location was changed to France it was a close adaptation.

A British businessman, Harrison, is kidnapped in France by criminals who demand a ransom. Then a young terrorist gets his hands on Harrison and demands the release of his lover who is one of France’s most wanted terrorists. This film based on the novel of the same name was influenced by some of the stories that Gerald Seymour covered in his time as a reporter.
