Platoon, the seminal 1986 Vietnam War film written and directed by Oliver Stone.

Based on Stone's personal experiences as an infantryman, the movie is renowned for its gritty, realistic portrayal of the conflict.

The story follows Chris Taylor (Charlie Sheen), a naive college dropout who volunteers for combat. He becomes caught in a moral struggle between two veteran sergeants: the compassionate Sergeant Elias (Willem Dafoe) and the ruthless, battle-hardened Sergeant Barnes (Tom Berenger).

The film features an ensemble cast including Charlie Sheen, Willem Dafoe, Tom Berenger, Keith David, Forest Whitaker, and a young Johnny Depp in an early role.
