'Phantom of the Opera' DVD

2002 Tartan DVD release of Italian horror director Dario Argento's 'The Phantom of the Opera'. It's utterly preposterous on almost every level but is visually stunning and very entertaining, if only for its on-again off-again romance between a telepathic cave dweller who, despite being raised by rats, can speak eloquently, play the organ, and remain clean-shaven at all times, and an young opera singer who is put off by her strange subterranean boyfriend's murderous rampages but not by his presumed body odour (seeing as he lives surrounded by rats and never changes his clothes). Truly a romance for the ages. Be warned, though: like all Argento movies, it may be a bit too gory for sensitive viewers.
The DVD is in very good condition, there are a few minor scratches to the surface but I watched it and it played fine.
