Widowed mother-of-two Suzanne (Jenny Seagrove) finds it impossible to start a relationship with a new man, even though her friends are always doing their best to find a match for her. But American sports therapist Tony (Anthony Edwards) falls in love with Suzanne as soon as he meets her and does his best to win her over. Meanwhile, dentist Frank (Charles Dance) has already resorted to using more desperate measures, and now plans to use his hypnotherapy training to overcome the widow's reticence.
