Seth Gordon directs this action comedy reboot of the classic US television series starring Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron and Alexandra Daddario. Tasked with protecting the beaches of Florida on a daily basis, Emerald Bay Beach Patrol chief Mitch Buchanan (Johnson) is forced to accept brash newcomer Matt Brody (Efron) into his dedicated team of lifeguards. A disgraced former Olympian recruited by county officials as a PR stunt to try and boost the team's brand, Matt's careless attitude and wild lifestyle immediately cause tension with Mitch. However, when a dead body suddenly turns up on their patch, the pair are forced to put aside their differences and work together in a bid to uncover a criminal plot which could threaten the future of the bay. The cast also includes Priyanka Chopra, Kelly Rohrbach and Ilfenesh Hadera.
