Vintage 1970s JVC HR-3330 VHS Video Cassette Recorder - Powers Up / Retro Tech

For sale is a vintage JVC HR-3330 top-loading VHS VCR, widely recognized as one of the earliest mass-market, purely mechanical VHS recorders ever produced (originally released in the late 1970s). This is a fantastic piece of retro media history, featuring heavy-duty "piano key" mechanical controls and a beautiful classic aesthetic.

• Power: The unit successfully powers up when plugged in, and the main indicator lights illuminate. However when I plugged it in I could get the smell of electronics like electricity which is probably normal for something this age but I plugged it out for precaution because I didn't want to damage it. It could be easily restored by someone into retro electronics.

Mechanics: The physical keys depress and click mechanically. The top-loading tape door compartment lifts up smoothly when the eject button is pressed.

Because I do not have a VHS tape or a compatible vintage television to test it further, it has not been tested for full video playback or tracking.

Solid cosmetic condition for its age. Showing normal, minor signs of vintage wear, but no major structural damage or missing knobs. (Please see high-resolution photos for exact cosmetic details).

Important Note for Buyers:

Due to its untested playback status, this unit is being sold As-Is for parts, collection, display, or restoration. It is a perfect project piece for vintage electronics hobbyists or collectors looking for a legendary first-generation VHS machine.

Shipping & Handling:

Please note that this is an incredibly solid, first-generation machine weighing approximately 13.5 kg. Due to the significant weight, it cannot be posted for price reasons.
