It has radio transmitter that can be plugged in anywhere in your home and it transmits up to a 1/2 acre circumference (adjustable as needed). The dog wears the waterproof receiver collar and there are varying settings from hearing a sound only to increasing a pulse when attempting to pass the boundary.
