Framed reprocuction John Rocque maps

Four framed maps make up a detailed map of Dublin. The reproductions were produced by the Irish Georgian Society and have been professionally framed in dark solid-walnut wood frames.

Each frame measures 53cm x 73cm. Together they are very striking on a feature wall in a home or commercial space.


About the map: “An Exact Survey of the City and Suburbs of Dublin in Which is express’d the Ground Plot of all Publick Buildings, Dwelling Houses, Ware Houses, Stables, Courts Yards &c by John Rocque, Chorographer the their Royal Highnesses the Late & Present Prince of Wales”.

The most accurate plan of Dublin including every dwelling, and every alleyway, in much more detail than Rocque produced for other cities in Europe including his huge map of London. It was to be another century before the Ordnance Survey would produce such a detailed city map.
