These framed prints are miniature antique maps of Ireland, specifically from the Mercator-Hondius series, likely based on the Atlas Minor published in the early 17th century.
Map Details
Top Map: Titled "Ultonia, Connacia et Media", it depicts the northern and central regions of Ireland, including Ulster, Connacht, and Meath.
Bottom Map: Titled "Hiberniae Tabula", it is a general map of the entire island of Ireland.
Cartographers: These maps are attributed to the legendary Gerard Mercator and were later updated and reduced for smaller "pocket" atlases by Jodocus Hondius and Jan Jansson.
Engraver: Many of these miniature plates were engraved by Petrus Kaerius (Pieter van den Keere) or Abraham Goos for editions published between 1607 and 1651.
