Native instruments kontrol s6 (working but needs some tlc)
I have used this unit for almost 2 years in current state .
I gig every week and apart from the issue mentioned below everything works
This would suit someone that tinkers with equipment /electronics.
Or perhaps someone starting out or maybe to still in the man cave .
I bought this new when they first released the S6 .
2 or 3 weeks later at a gig a customer passing split a few drops of beer on the unit which i driied up immediatley .
The unit worked fine for the rest of the gig but the next week the left tempo fader wasnt responding so i adjusted on screen when needed .
Im djing over 20 years so i would servicie and replace or repair my own equipment as needed.
So i think the liquid has dried inside the fader which is interfering with the software reading its position
the cheap fix would be contact cleaner
The second option would be to simply replace ther fader and solder in a new one i couldnt imaginea replacment costing more than 30ero
.i have tried clean it out but really i think the board needs to come out for better access ... i opened the unit at the time and to take out the left or right side boards there is literally about 80+ screws to undo so i didnt carry on because i didnt have a back up at the time and if it did need a new fader i couldnt afford to have it dismanteled while i waited and it was only released so i could have been waiting weeks .
So i just carried on using adjusting the tempo on screen when needed ..
It was 650 when i bought it and i average between 60 & 80 gigs a year so its made its money..
Can be tested and seen working.
Even with the issue its a shame to just have it gathering dust
