@superd1978 Yes, you can paint the EKEDALEN table top, but you have to be very careful with how you prepare it. The table looks like solid wood, but it is actually made of particleboard covered in a thin wood veneer (ash or oak) and coated with a clear acrylic lacquer. Because of this factory finish, paint will not stick to it directly, and you cannot aggressively sand it down like solid wood without destroying the thin veneer layer underneath
