I'm no expert, but I have been recently looking at regimental swagger sticks online, and they all seem to have regimental badges embossed, rather than attached.

The decoration on the head of yours is a British Army generic light infantry badge, of the collar badge variety. You can see variations on it in many light infantry cap badges, e.g., Somerset Light Infantry, Durham Light Infantry.

I'm only guessing, but I'd say someone attached a collar badge to a plain swagger stick. That doesn't mean it's not an antique, nor that it doesn't have an interesting or personal history. Maybe some ex-squaddie lost his original swagger stick and made do with what you have to keep him reminded of old comrades??
