MINT 1950s Burman Hand Clippers - Working - No Rust - Original Box (9/6)
MINT 1950s Burman Hand Clippers - Working - No Rust - Original Box (9/6)
Description:
For sale is an absolutely fascinating piece of engineering in showroom condition. These Burman & Sons Ltd. manual hair clippers are a rare find—not just because they are vintage, but because they have been preserved in mint, working order with zero rust.
Manufactured in Birmingham, England, these were the gold standard for barbers in the mid-20th century.
Condition & Highlights:
Pristine Metalwork: The chrome/steel finish is bright and clear. There is no pitting or rust whatsoever.
Fully Functional: The squeeze-action is smooth and ready for use. It hasn't seized up and has clearly been well-stored for decades.
Stamped Authenticity: The handles are clearly stamped "Burman" and "Made in England."
Original Box: Comes in the original two-tone cardboard box featuring the manufacturer's part number and the original pre-decimal price mark of 9/6 (9 shillings, 6 pence).
Why this piece?
This is a "collector grade" item. Most vintage clippers found today are seized or heavily rusted. This set is "ready to go" and would be a standout display piece for a high-end traditional barbershop, a film/theatre prop, or a serious collector of English tools.
A beautiful, heavy, and fascinating piece of history.
