Chinese Famille Verte porcelain vase. This style of porcelain is renowned for its distinctive colour palette, primarily featuring green enamel, along with red, yellow, blue, and purple.
Famille Verte, meaning "green family" in French, was a term coined by art historian Albert Jacquemart in the 1860s to classify Chinese ceramics by their dominant enamel colour.
The wares were largely produced during the Kangxi period (1661-1722) of the Qing dynasty in China.
The vase is painted with a continuous scene of figures in a landscape.
This type of porcelain is also known as wucai ("five colours") in China.
