Achill Island Pottery Bud Vase
Achill Island pottery vase in beautiful condition. Use as a quirky toothbrush or pen holder also!
13.5 cm x 8 cm high x 10 cm deep
The pottery was opened in 1960 in Keel on Achill Island by Joseph and Mary Colohan, whose inspiration came from working at a craft pottery centre in Vallauris (southern France). Crucially, they had some timely advice from Pablo Picasso who was also working there at the time. After Joe (1906-1988) and Mary (1920-2007) passed away, the business went to their son, Fergil. Today, Fergil and his wife Geraldine continue to run the Achill Pottery on a seasonal basis.
The only way to get your hands on a piece of this lovely pottery is to personally visit the studio I believe.
Achill pottery does not sell their items online.
This piece is in excellent preloved condition. No chips, nibbles or crazing.
