1% Methylene Blue 50ml
Description
Our Methylene Blue 1% Solution is a high-purity aqueous formula designed for laboratory analysis, advanced microscopy, and precise scientific research. Prepared using only 99.99% ultra-pure, USP Pharmaceutical Grade methylthioninium chloride and purified water. Engineered for reliability, our 1% concentration provides the standard baseline required for consistent, drop-by-drop measurement in professional settings. Other brands (which we have tested) are usually well below the advertised 1%, most have a large degree of sediment. Ours has been made using precision scales, then solutions are given gentle stirring for 72 hours to ensure complete dissolution of the solute. The solution is then vacuum filtered and precisely measured into the bottle.
Product Highlights
Maximum Purity: Made exclusively with 99.99% pure pharmaceutical-grade material, ensuring it meets strict quality standards and is free from toxic industrial byproducts or contaminants.
100% Additive-Free Formulation: Our minimalist formula contains only two components—purified water and pure methylene blue. Zero stabilizers, zero fillers.
Precision Dropper Bottle: Packaged in a high-quality UV protective glass bottle to protect the solution from light degradation, featuring a precision glass pipette with 0.25ml to 1ml graduation marks that dispenses 0.5 mg of methylene blue per drop.
Unmatched Versatility: Ideal for a wide range of scientific applications, including wet mount preparation, counterstaining, and mitochondrial research.

Multi-Purpose Applications
Microscopy & Histology: Acts as an excellent nuclear counterstain, rendering cell nuclei sharply visible under a microscope.
Laboratory Testing: Highly effective for checking water filtration mechanics and evaluating organic pollutant absorption patterns.
Mitochondrial & Cellular Research: Extensively utilized in peer-reviewed scientific studies exploring ATP synthesis, cellular energy metabolism, and electron transport chain efficiency.
Aquaculture & Aquarium Applications
Antifungal Egg Protection: Widely used by professional fish breeders to protect vulnerable fish eggs against fungal infections without harming developing embryos.
External Parasite Treatment: Functions as a highly effective quarantine treatment against common protozoan parasites, including Ichthyophthirius multifiliis, Chilodonella, and Costia.
Emergency Ammonia & Nitrite Therapy: Acts as a vital electron carrier to reverse methemoglobinemia, helping fish recover from acute nitrite or ammonia poisoning by restoring blood oxygenation.
Usage Safeguards: Methylene blue is toxic to live plants and will disrupt the beneficial biological filtration bacteria in established aquariums. It should always be administered in a separate quarantine or hospital tank. Do not use in tanks containing delicate invertebrates like shrimp or snails.
Important Safety Warning & Disclaimer
For Laboratory and Research Use Only: This product is sold strictly as a laboratory reagent, diagnostic stain, and chemical indicator.
Not for Human Consumption: This solution is not a dietary supplement, food product, or medication. Do not ingest, inject, or apply topically to humans or animals.
Contraindications: Methylene blue is a potent Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitor and can cause severe, life-threatening adverse reactions if it comes into contact with certain medications. Keep entirely out of reach of children and pets.
Storage & Handling Instructions
Methylene blue is an incredibly potent dye that will easily stain surfaces, skin, and fabrics. Handle with care. Store the bottle upright in its original packaging, away from direct sunlight, and keep tightly sealed at room temperature (below 25°C).
