Between 1966 and 1984 the company produced mid-market jewelery for the Dutch domestic market under a different name. In 1984 they changed their design style and became Ermani Bulatti, a name which was created by 'Italianizing' a mix of the owner's and designer's names.
Ermani Bulatti jewelry were celebrated for their designs, in Art Deco style, of fantastic large brooches, necklaces, belts and clip earrings and were all handmade with great attention to detail. People had developed a special technique for oxidizing metals. The base material nickel or tombak (copper alloy that looks like brass but is more golden, sometimes called red brass) was immersed in a silver bath so that a thick layer of silver appeared on it after which the silver was oxidized and polished resulting in an effect of old silver, characteristic of Bulatti jewelry. For the old brass look jewelry, the same technique was used on red copper. One also used mother of pearl, river pearls, multicolored Swarovski pearls, rhinestones, bone, glass, silk, wood, semi-precious stones and aluminum.
All the jewelery produced was handmade, often utilizing bronze and was sold in high-end boutiques. The company closed its doors in 2012.
