Description:
Poste San Marino SpA - Divisione Filatelica e Numismatica issues a proof divisional coin set with two 2€ commemorative coins, year 2023.
The 2-euro coins will commemorate the '500th anniversary of the death of Perugino' and the '500th anniversary of the death of Luca Signorelli'.
The obverse and reverse of the coins of the eight denominations (2 euro, 1 euro, 50 cent, 20 cent, 10 cent, 5 cent, 2 cent, 1 cent) are the same as the coins currently in circulation.

The first commemorative coin depicts on the obverse the Virgin Mary with the Child Jesus, detail of the painting "Madonna with Child, Saint Sebastian and Saint John the Baptist" by Perugino, kept at the Uffizi Galleries. Pietro Vannucci, known as Perugino, was one of the Masters of the Italian Renaissance, an artist who influenced his contemporaries and whose works still enchant everyone who is watching them.

The second commemorative coin represents an angel on the obverse, a detail of the painting "Il Paradiso" by Luca Signorelli, kept in the Chapel of San Brizio in the Cathedral of Orvieto.
Luca Signorelli, pseudonym of Luca d'Egidio di Ventura, is considered among the greatest interpreters of Italian Renaissance painting.
