Roman Antoninianus Trajan
Silver Billion Antoninianus of Trajan Decius.
This coin was minted during the reign of Emperor Trajan Decius, who ruled from AD 249 to 251.
Obverse : Features the radiated head of Trajan Decius facing right. The "radiate crown" (the spikes on his head) is the hallmark of an Antoninianus, indicating it was worth two denarii. The inscription usually reads IMP C M Q TRAIANVS DECIVS AVG.
Reverse : Shows the emperor on horseback, pacing or galloping to the left, with his right hand raised in a gesture of greeting or authority. The inscription reads ADVENTVS AVG, celebrating the "Arrival" of the Emperor, likely into Rome or a major provincial city.
Material: Billon (a low-grade silver alloy common in the mid-3rd century).
