Description:
In 1543, three Portuguese arrived on the island of Tanegashima, becoming the first Europeans to come into contact with the Land of the Rising Sun.
From the outset, Portugal and Japan influenced each other in different areas, from technical to artistic, and maintained intense commercial relations.
One of the most popular Japanese items was the famous lacquer pieces (urushi), created by master craftsmen using a technique as old as it was complex.
The proof finish version in silver has some color details
About Euro Collector Coins:
Euro 'Collection Coins' are coins issued by Individual Member States.
These coins can not have a face value of 1c, 2c, 5c, 10c, 20c, €1, or €2.
They are legal tender within the issuing state.
The European Council concludes that other member states should also accept these coins (via their respective National Central Banks [transaction fee may apply]) thus effectively making them legal tender through the euro zone.
