Denomination was introduced by the reform of January 11, 1924. The coin was minted pursuant to the regulation of the Minister of Finance of December 10, 1936. Pursuant to the regulation of the President of the Republic of Poland of August 27, 1932, these coins could be used to repay debts up to a maximum of 100 złoty. The coin remained in circulation until November 1939.

2 złoty coins were minted in Warsaw in 1936,1937, and 1938. The coin was minted in the following two years, without changing the date, in 1937 and 1938.

5 złotych coins were minted in Warsaw in 1936 to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the construction of the port in Gdynia.
