Irish Decimal 1/2p (Half Penny / Leathphingin) bronze coins from the Republic of Ireland (KM# 19).
Details
Obverse: The traditional Irish Harp (Cláirseach) flanked by the country name éıʀe and the respective mintage date (1971, 1975, 1978, 1980, and 1982).
Reverse: Stylized ornamental bird motif adapted from an illuminated illustration in the 8th-century Book of Kells, designed by Irish artist Gabriel Hayes.
Historical Context: Introduced on Decimal Day (15 February 1971) and withdrawn/demonetized on 1 January 1987 due to inflation.
