Description:
Founded in 1923 by Walt Disney, Disney Animation studio’s are celebrating 100 years of stories and magic.
Historically established as “Disney Brothers Studios”, the American studio has produced more than 150 films and hundreds of animated shorts since its creation.
The characters created by the studio's animators have crossed time and generations, continuing to amaze adults and children alike.
To celebrate the centenary of the Disney studios, Monnaie de Paris is paying tribute to Walt Disney's titanic legacy by minting a collection of coins featuring characters from his universe.
The face of these rectangular collector coins are dedicated to Mickey and his friends.
We find in the shape of a family photo the historical characters created by the Disney studios : Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy and Tic & Tac.
They celebrate one hundred years of dreams and magic, symbols of Walt Disney's legacy.
The reverse of the coins in this collection feature the character of Mickey Mouse, along with a frieze of engraved characters from the Disney studio universe.
This reverse also presents the face value of the coin and the acronym "RF" (French Republic).
About Euro Collector Coins:
Euro 'Collection Coins' are coins issued by Individual Member States.
These coins can not have a face value of 1c, 2c, 5c, 10c, 20c, €1, or €2.
They are legal tender within the issuing state.
The European Council concludes that other member states should also accept these coins (via their respective National Central Banks [transaction fee may apply]) thus effectively making them legal tender through the euro zone.
