A fantastic Edward VII, 1902 Coronation Sterling Silver Medal, Rare in this condition with its original Coronation Medal holder.
In 1901 Edward VII became king following the death of Queen Victoria. The king only reigned for nine years, in contrast to his mother who held the title of Britain's longest reigning monarch until Queen Elizabeth surpassed it. Although Edward became king in 1901, his first coins weren't struck until 1902.

Sorry, it says silver, but it looks yellow metals, probably the lights. :-) ok, so, it's silverish. What metals?

Wait! Is the Queen's crown over the edge? I mean, the shadow shows a gap between the crown and the coin base. This is really impressive.

There is a lot of oxidation (expected for 100+yo on a paper bag). The details of flowers over the borders in the queen side (bottom) are impressive.

How are the borders around the coin? Any chance to post from to and bottom photos (left and right would also be good if possible).

Any idea about the metals used in 1902 for it? Zinc, copper, brass...?
