This 1 Peso coin was produced by Mexico between 1869 and 1873. Its weight and purity is based on the same standard as the famous Spanish silver dollar (8 Reales), weight is 27.073 g (1 Real was 3.383 g) and fineness 20 Dineros, 40 Granos (20 Ds 40 Gs). Pure silver was 12 Dineros and each Dinero was further divided into 24 Granos.
