1498 French Louis XII Hammered Gold Ecu. Lovely coin.

A lovely 1498-1507 Gold Hammered Ecu of Louis XII of France. Lovely Ecu with sun type.

Details are lovely in the middle however it is unfortunately that the edges have been chewed, however it is still for the most part all together, no cracking on the flan or any deep gouges.

This weighs at 3.29g, only .06 grams short of its standard weight so it's pretty much all there and is of a very high buttery yellow gold purity of .963.

This is infact nearly the gold weight of a half sovereign!

This is a very budget friendly example of a lovely 500+ year old medieval hammered gold! You won't find one like it anywhere else in Ireland, and online? Good luck with the shipping costs!
