Vintage French Carriage Clock - Duverdrey & Bloquel (Clerys 1980s)
Beautiful mechanical carriage clock originally purchased in Clerys, Dublin, in the early 1980s. This is a quality French-made piece by Duverdrey & Bloquel (code 78 on the movement). Used for about 15 years, then in storage since 1985.
Design: Brass case with glass sides and a glass top, allowing you to see the internal mechanical movement.
Movement: 8-day mechanical (wind-up).
Condition: Externally in very good vintage condition. No cracks or chips to the glass. Minor age-related spotting/tarnish on the top brass plate, consistent with age.
Mechanical Status: Currently not ticking. It feels "overwound" (mainspring is tight), likely due to the original oil drying out over time. It has been stored as a decorative piece for several years.
Perfect project for a horology hobbyist or a lovely static decorative piece for a mantelpiece.
