Junghans German Art Deco Mantel Clock

A wooden mantel clock in the Art Deco style, a German product from the first half of the 20th century by the Junghans brand.
The clock features a classic, rounded, veneered wooden case, adorned with carved floral motifs on the sides. The brand's distinctive signature is visible on the dial, just below the 12 o'clock position – a stylized triangle, which alludes to renowned German clock manufacturers of the period (such as the Alpina/DUG craft association and related manufactories).

Star and "J" logo: This is the famous trademark of the prestigious German manufacturer Junghans (more precisely, Junghans Uhrenfabrik). The eight-pointed star with the letter "J" inscribed on it is one of the most recognizable symbols in the history of global watchmaking.

W.278: This designates the model (caliber) of the movement. The W.278 caliber was an extremely successful, robust, and popular pendulum mechanism with a striking function (most often of the Bim-Bam type). It was widely used in mantelpiece (buffet) and wall clocks.

38 11: This is the production date code. It indicates that this particular movement was manufactured in November 1938 (38 being the year 1938, and 11 being the eleventh month of the year).
The casing is a bit worn by time, but the watch works fine.
