Genalex - British Art Deco Mantel Clock
A British mantel clock by Genalex, dating from the Art Deco period (1930s/1940s).
Genalex was a trademark used by the British company GEC (General Electric Company) for products intended for export markets. The clock movements themselves were often produced in collaboration with renowned manufacturers (e.g., Smiths).
The distinctive Art Deco style is evident in the geometric, octagonal case, the distinctive numeral design, and the chrome bezel around the dial.
Power Supply/Movement: Originally, these models most often operated as electric (synchronous) clocks, powered by the mains.
The clock has not been tested for functionality.
