Antique-Style Brass Desktop Magnifying Glass on Folding Stand
A charming reproduction desktop magnifying glass presented on an articulated, hinged brass-toned stand, designed in the style of an early 19th-century optician's instrument. The circular lens (approx. 8cm/3.1" diameter) is set in a dark-rimmed bezel and mounted on a triple-jointed folding arm, allowing the glass to be angled and tilted.
The stand is fixed to a solid, dark-stained wooden base with rounded corners, which carries an engraved brass plaque reading "Watkins & Hill, Opticians, London, 1805." The base is finished with a black felt/baize pad to the underside to protect furniture surfaces.
A lovely decorative piece for a desk, study, or bookshelf, as a functional magnifier or as a display item.
